Project Title
Computational Applications in Equilibrium and Instabilities of Advanced Plasma Confinement Geometries

Brief Description for General Publications
This project has two related aims:
1) to compute the equilibrium, stability and eigenmodes of 3D plasma geometries such as the heliac, in support of experiments and to further the development of these codes.
2) to apply large scale computing techniques, such as data mining, to the analysis of stability data from H-1 in the first instance, and ultimately other advanced confinement devices around the world.

Outcomes:
Publications on equilibrium and stability and data mining. Code development, which could lead to a larger project on the implementation of a completely new 3D equilibrium code.
