Brief Description for General Publications
Our work characterises the dependence of human health on atmospheric conditions, especially temperature and humidity but also air pollution, and estimates the likely impact of climate change on these health outcomes. Sub-projects are 1. Hospitalisation rates by disease class (e.g. cardiovascular) in major Australian cities 2. Geographical variation in the temperature-mortality relationship (esp heatwaves) 3. The impact of climate change in exacerbating the health impacts of air pollution 4. Rates of food-borne disease (especially salmonella infecations) in relation to weather |
