Brief Description for General Publications
The project is directed to characterisation of the inner structure of sea urchin spines. A sample of the spine has been scanned on CTscan at RSPhys. A large number of data has been collected. The nest step is to create a finite element analysis code to display the sample and to calculate several physical parameters, such as volume fraction of solid, porosity and its tortuosity, true solid cross-sectional area and similar. For this we need to use ABAQUS. |
