Brief Description for General Publications
We aim to explore structure and physical properties of Ge-As-Se glasses with various chemical compositions to allow the best material to be identified for the application in photonics. Our approach involves the use of computer simulation to build up optimized geometry structure of a larger cluster consisting of few hundreds of atoms, and subsequently calculation of electric and optical properties of the glasses. After then we will further explore the role of the chemical compositions and the structure coordination number in covalent compounds in determining the physical properties of the glasses. |
